Raul Govea Peralta
Raul Govea was born 1975 in Mexico City. He spent the first eight years
of his life in Tuxtla Gutierrez (Chiapas). Five months in Coatzacoalcos
(Veracruz), and later he moved out to San Luis Potosi (S.L.P.). But it
was not the end of the journey. By the summer of the year 1990 he spent
one semester in Harlingen (Texas, U.S.A.). After that, he spent three
years and a half in Toronto (Ontario, Canada). To graduate high school
he returned to San Luis Potosi. But he wanted to study Fine Arts also in
Ontario. But the cost of this study for him as foreing became very
expensive and that is why he decided to go back to Mexico. He started to
study Architecture, but two years later he leaned Industrial Design.
Since his childhood he was interested in painting. He wanted to leave
print of all his thoughts and dreams so he used almost anything that was
at his reach like loose pieces of paper, his school notebooks, even the
walls of his house (thing that didn't make happy his mother). Through
his lifetime he learned most of all the art techniques for ex.:
watercolours, crayon, ink, pencil colours etc. In the begining of the
year 2005 he tottaly devote to paint full time using the oil technic.
Lately he also started to work with the acrylics. His first exposition
took place in a Coffee Shop and later in official guvernamental
buildings and in a gallery property of the IPBA. His first international
exposition took place in Lodz (Poland) during the II International Art
Forum organized by the Adi Art Gallery. The city of Lodz enchanted him
so much that one year later he decided to make it his hometown.
